“I’m very grateful and humbled that the communities voted to re-elect me to serve another term,” DeJournett said. DeJournett earned 29,883 votes (71.05 percent), while Skavnak received 11,981 votes (28.49 percent). Another 196 write-in votes accounted for the remaining .47 percent. DeJournett said she believes the amount of votes she received was a reflection of her work during her first term. “I’m pretty straightforward and worked very hard and took my term very seriously,” she said. “We worked on transparency in the park board, and I reached out to communicate with every one of my cities and improve relationships.”
